Scents- Cold vs. Hot

YES, without a doubt. The colder the air the more dense the air becomes making any scent less likely to carry for any distance. I have been out bowhunting in -30 and the scent, in most cases does not travel much at all. Back in my trapping days, later in the season the colder it got, the more scent I would have to lay down to hit the noses of the fox. Even with a lot of scent it would never match the effectiveness like early fall .

I could be wrong, but I usually think it has to do with humidity. Warmer temperatures have more water in the air, colder temperatures make the air more dry. The wetter the air the stronger the scent (for example, the forest smells very strongly if you go in it right after a rain shower when everything is still all wet).
