NW Ontario Lake Trout trip

Neil had asked if I would be interested in going fishing yesterday and of course I said Heck YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! Off to NW Ontario 5 am and arrived at our spot around 8ish. Threw everything we had at the Lake Trout, had a few swim by's and a few rocket off the bottom and shoot straight up 25 ft for our lures. First fish of the day was a very healthy 34-36 inch pike that got my heart beating. Then it was Walleye after Walleye after Walleye. We ventured out of the shack for a while and Neil got slammed right below the ice..fish on! I ran back to the shack to get the camera and as I was coming back I heard a quiet voice say " it's off"...After some razzing from me it was back to fishing. Niel and I were having a blast and I decided to take a break and eat my sandwhich. I joked that this would be the time I get hit and sure enough with my mouth full of food my deadstick tube has tripled in size on the flasher. I lifted the bait up and KABOOM! Laker on and coming up quite easy..then she realized she was hooked and the battle started. After a great fight , high fives and a few pics and measurement it was back to fishing. We did see a few more lakers show up on our flashers but that was all they did. Anyways had a great time fishing with Neil, came home with a nice feed of walleyes and can hardly wait to go again!
