Temp Control in Permy House

I've just built a 8x12 house, insulated walls, but not the floor. 10,000btu heater. Gets warm pretty quick but its like 80 degrees when your standing and 40 if your kneeling by the hole. What kind of fan do you use to move the air around?

12 volt fan that you can get from most auto stores works great. Pick one that you can adjust the angle. We use two of them, works great. Make sure you wire them correctly, we had our contacts backwards the first time and it just blew air up to the ceiling. Works better if blowing down

Do they sell 12v that you can plug into a normal outlet? Not alligator clips on the battery.

I bought one from FF, and it plugs directly into a 12 volt receptacle. Just one made all the difference in my 6.5 X 14. The floor and the ceiling now stay the same temp.

We made a small shelf about 10" above the heater- this diverts the heat a little better to keep more on the bottom.

Funny....I was at FF on Sat and they told me they had no such thing. I thought maybe an RV store or something might have them.

I have 3 computer fans wired through a thermostat. I set it to 'cool' at 75 degrees and they kick on about every 30 mins or so for 10-15 mins. Works great for keeping the holes open and an even temperature floor to ceiling. You could do something similar with an oscillating fan if you wanted to go that route.

computer fans work great its just enough air movement but you dont feel the "breeze" like you do in using a bigger fan.
