One quick check before you tear into it: check ALL your fuel lines (inside tank, too)for any tiny cracks...if you have a primer bulb/line, check that. Today's wonderful (sarcasm)gas will degrade fuel lines/rubber parts. I just found that out on mine this fall when I fired it up. It did the same thing yours did.. Thought the carb was leaking, nope. Was actually a hairline crack in fuel line system. Put on new bulb/line, and away we went. It could be more than a few things causing this, but this is the easiest thing to check quick.

thanks Rebel, with the cold weather we had Thursday-Saturday and the fuel line hasn't been replaced since I've bought it, this is something I'll check out for sure before ordering something!

anyone know if the plastic elbow on top of the carb is readily available?

Jmnhunter: I take it you did find a crack in your fuel system...the part you are looking for should be available (or able to order) from any small engine repair facility.
