Non-res pronghorn

Recommended Posts

I recently became a non-res of ND and I'd like to buy a non-res pronghorn license. Can I purchase one over the counter in Fargo? Do I have to apply for a license and get drawn (it doesn't look like that to me). What's the scoop with this?

I too became a non-res of ND awhile back and if it is still the same, gun season is closed to non-resdents, but is open to archery up to x-amount of license on a first come first serve basis. Better yet, check out the ND Game and Fish web site.

That's where I was looking, but it still wasn't clear to me. Did I forget to mention I'm not interested in gun-- just bow hunting.
Anybody?

Scoot,

You got me interested so I had to go take a look. North Dakota Game & Fish Dept. HSOforum says there is an unlimited number of Pronghorn Bow licenses available. Resident Pronghorn Gun is a lottery much like MN's spring turkey season. I'm assuming unlimited applies to non-resident hunters too because no where in the regulations did it state otherwise.

License will cost you $200 plus you need a General Game & Habitat license for $13 & a Fishing, Hunting, Furbearer Certificate for $2.

Season is from Aug. 29 @ 12 noon to Oct 12.

So it seems to me that you could run over to Scheels and tell them you want a Nonresident Pronghorn Archery tag and you should have no problem getting one. But, I could be very wrong on that too, thats just the way the regulations read to me.
