ac777
My girlfriend shot a bird today with me that had brite Yellow feet on the undersides. Bothe feet were like this, other than that the bird was normal. Anyone know what this is from? Some kind of genetics is what I'm thinking. mudslinger
This is purely a guess but could it be from the frigid temps lately? Mallards always get the red legs from more blood having to be in their feet when its cold out (or so I've read).
slyer
i don't think it's from the cold, because i shot one also this year with yellow feet out west and that was in early nov. kinda wierd looking i thought maybe a released bird?

rwwong
Didnt the season close yesterday? This was going to be my first question, I think he should be more concerned about poaching; unless this was at a game farm!?
longbeard34
Im guessing ac777 meant yesterday and didnt realize it was Monday since he posted it at 12:30. My guess would be a lack of pigmentation.

I get tired of that happening on here. Those feet are weird! Cool though!
scsavre
The internet police tried to get you, funny... That is crazy, has to be the wet yellow paint theory......Weird, never seen it before.

LABS4ME
I've seen Chickens that froze their feet and they turn a yellow color (before turning gray and falling off).My sister has 2 roosters that have 'clubs' for feet. Their toes and a chunk of their foot eventually fell off and they run around on a small chunk of their foot at the base of their leg. That's maybe be my guess...Good Luck!Ken

memyself@I
I shot one a few years back, the only thing I found memorable about the yellow feet was that it was one tough bird after cooking!!!
