Why does these ridges or cracks always seem to happen in the same areas every year? My guess is that it has something to do with depth and bottom structure but not sure doeas anyone know anything? Just curious. confused

My guess would be because the way the ice forms on the lake is the same more or less from year to year and when it expands it expands in more or less the same way each year and for that reason the pressure ridges form in the same areas.
