Who will has the first fish of the new year?

Well it's not me. I'm at work. But trust me, my mind is thinking about one thing-ice fishing! Looking at the Ice Fishing Guide for the 50th time, looking at Thorne Bros HSOforum for some new rods, looking at LOW resorts so I can go in February, and of course checking in here at Fishing MN to see whats new. Thank goodness its a slow night here at work! Oh how I wish I was on the ice...

It won't be me either. I can't catch a thing. I went out early this morning and marked tons of fish and couldn't even get a nibble. I could get them to follow my jig almost half way up but no takers. This is the same thing that has happened to me the last 4 days. And I have thrown everything at them. I'm blaming it on the fact that the barometer reading here is 30.45 and still rising. I need to try a new lake or wait for the barometric pressure to at least stop rising.

Just caught a 25 inch Northern this morning, had two big ones or it could have been the same one bit me off. My first bite was at about 8:00 the one I caught was at 10:30. Happy New Year!
