My buddy heater is starting on fire when I turn it on now. It starts where the propane is released and spreads over the whole heater.(first time it had flames 6 + inches over the top of the heater) Anyone have any ideas on what might be wrong with it and how I could fix it?

get on Mr Heaters site, find their phone number and call their customer service. Let them know that you are afraid of any safety issues and they will fix you right up. They have great customer service, especially when it comes to safety issues.
