Keeping a fish trap 1/2 open

This might be a dumb question but I see people on TV using their fish traps as a windblock with them half open how do they do it. Do you have to buy a aditional part to lock the poles in place? I have a fish trap pro.

The extra pole that came with your pro, I call it the spreader pole, that connects the back pole to a hole in the sled, they are just leaving that pole in place and opening the tent so that it rests on that pole. I'll try to get some close up pics for you today.

Set it up as you would normally then just fold it back. The cross poles between the bows will hold it half open.This works good if it's a warm day with the sun shining.

My pro did not come with an extra pole, that cross pole. I cut the blade off an old hockey stick and prop that between the back ledge of the sled and the bow that normally sits on the ice. Makes for a very nice wind break on those warm days.
