engine bogging down?

I just bout a 97 trail and took it out for the first time. every once in a while it would bog down when you floored it. when I bought it the gas tank was almost empty and I just put fresh gas in it. Do you think my carb is gummed up? any ideas? thanks

its very possible.. i would pull the plugs that will tell you how the motor is running

I'd replace the in-line fuel filter as well. If the tank was ran empty it probably sucked in some junk from the tank.

Check the exhaust springs and the donut,bolts that connect the manifold to the block and gaskets. I had a broken bolt and I was having the same issue...replaced it and the gaskets and solved it.

All else fails fill it premium and put some seafoam in it. It cant hurt.

sounds like you may have worn belt or drive clutch. you may want to check your weights in the drive along with the spring, that could be weak also. Belt width is very critical on those also. A new belt may help along with weights and a spring.
