I use it maily when things are slow but also cause we always end up getting different scents on our hands like gas, food, smoke for those that do that, and other scents,I'm not particular about what I use anything that they sell as such I guess

Excellent. I'm a young guy who loves to ice fish and am always looking for an advantage.

I have another question that's off this topic. I want to put together a post of ice strategies I've used to pull in nice fish with pictures from across the state (walleye, pike). Is this ok or does it need to go in a special forum?

Fish are biting nice right now. I've always slaughterd pike/walleye right before/during a blizzard.

This is what works for pike right now:

Set up a tip-up or 2 (if you're not jigging) in shallow water 3.5 - 7 ft of water, preferably on the shore side of a weedline. Standard Lindy spinner, treble hook and I like large shiners, but currently using suckers.

Change holes every hour and work your way down the shore paying extra attention to points.

Going to go into far more detail in my next post in the correct section, but this should give you a quick start when the fish are biting.

I've caught the largest Pike, Walleye and Muskie in the shallows even on unfamiliar lakes.

This also works real well on the backwaters of the mississippi, but be extremely careful, esepcially at this time of the year.
