Just got a Thorne Bros 36" Dead Stick for X-Mas (we celebrate early with some relatives).

Any suggestions on what reel i should pair it with and what line. It has such a strong backbone but the tip is very sensitive. I am very impressed with the craftsmanship of this rod!

Anyone else use one or have deadsticking suggestions? What methods work best for you...

I have the exact same rod with a Abu Garcia 100 reel. The Abu 300 would also work very well. The Tica reels are also a nice reel but I believe the Abu have a bit smoother drag.

I use 4# P-line flouro ice for line.

I landed a 36" northern on this set up a week or so ago. One needs to keep the drag set correctly with these larger fish and line this light.
