Make sure you always bring your unit inside after a trip. I did not do this the other day and the next day my transducer was froze to the bottom. It took about 20 minutes over the heater and prying on it to get it loose. I think that tread I recently read about that happening jinxed me. smile

I got a little trick for that. Cut a piece of that press and seal suran wrap (twice as big as the cup) double it over sticking the sticky sides together. Next lay it on top of your transducer and trip around it with a sizzors. Lay it in the bottom of the cup. I've never had a problem.

This is the first flasher I've ever owned (just picked it up yesterday) and I was wondering if you disconnect the battery after charging every time or just if you won't be using it for extended amounts of time like between seasons?

Another way to make your battery last longer is a simple one...get it off the ice. I have a 4x6 piece of styrofoam that I set mine on. A lot of other guys I've seen set it on a bucket, same principle.
