70-200 L lens

Recommended Posts

Hello all!! a very Merry Christmas and the best to all in '10!!!

hey, I wanted some direction or advice on something,, I'm looking into the Canon 70-200 L lens (f/2.8) , as I am getting into weddings and portraits,, as well as birds,, think this lens will cut it for me? I'm told so. I bought the 100-400 L series lens last year and am thrilled with it.. I think this would be a wonderful addition to my gear.

My most used portrait lens (actually my most used lens period) is the 70-200/2.8 followed by the 17-40. I have both the IS and non-IS and use the non-IS the most. That is because I normally shoot with some form of light so the IS is not a necessity. Shooting available light is when the IS will really come into play. If price is not an issue the IS version is the way to go, you can always turn it off.
