New to spearing

Is there anybody willing to take a guy out spearing. I do a lot of angling, but have never tried spearing. I've always heard that it is an experience. I would just like to try it out before I put too much money into a spear shack and all of the equipment. I would be willing to meet up on the weekends or Mondays. I live in the Big Lake area but would be willing to meet up withing a 40 mile radius.

there is a get-together happening right now on Clear Lake not far from you that is just for new spearers or interested in the sport. Look up Bowfising/spearing forum and its all right there and I know you can crash it because its an open event. There are some really great guys willing to share a house and show you the ropes about spearing.

If you can't make it definetly chat with the guys in that forum and most of them live near you and are more then willing to offer up a seat any other time a very friendly crew i must say and very knowledgable!

Check out Minnesota Dark House and Angling Association. We have a chapter in Alexandria and would take you out if you were in the area. I'm sure there is a chapter down there, and that you could hook up with a member to take you out.

I can set you up on a lake near Cambridge if you want to go out.

I have all the equipment needed to spear, but you have to cut your own hole!!

I have speared Big lake too.

It is a nice clear lake with lots of Bass to watch when the northerns aren't moving.
