BROKE THE CAMERA !!!! ARRGH !!! Bummer!

It's a pushturbo you can find them on the web, installed at Northern Crankshaft in Thief River Falls. It is designed for pump gas but he was running aviation fuel when we were out there. I believe he said it was running 6 lbs boost, although I don't know how a person had time to look at the gauges!!! shockedgrin Crankshaft is welded just for good measure.

Like I said, WHAT A RIDE !!

Did you guys get to Rabbit Ears or Buffalo Pass? Haven't been on Snowest's site for a while so I'm not up to speed. I would think you guys went thru Walden on the way to Steamboat and Clark, how was the high mountain prairie lookin'? snow up on the fences out there?

Yes we went threw Walden on our way there and back... I really cant tell you where we went... It was our first time out there and i didn't look at much of the map beside the trails. I will have to some looking back when i have some time.

I'm guessing they have gotten snow since we where there... but there was a lot of good open area's when good POW to play around in. They needed more snow that is for sure... it was starting to get hard.

Welded the crankshaft???

We just got home tonight. We rode Grand Lake Mon and Tues....stopped at Rabbit Ears on Wed on our way to the Snowies which we rode Thurs and Fri.

GL was ok (8-12" new in upper elevations)......plenty of snow in the trees in the upper elevations....much of it bottomless sugar. Meadows had 4-8" of new snow....but still pretty tracked still so not all that great. Found reports of better snow not to far away so we decided to pack up and head north.

Our stop at RE made the trip for me. 2' of new powder.....just sweet!!! A bunch of snow there and we only rode half way to Buffalo Pass because of that. We were some of the first tracks in a lot of the meadows all day! What a great day of riding even though it was shorter due to some sled is sues we were dealing with in the morning.

The snowies had a ton of snow but by Thurs/Fri it was setting up pretty good. Made for great conditions for exploring....yes still being able to carve through the [untracked !!] meadows. The trees and smaller open areas were still soft and made for some great riding. Were able to climb many areas fairly easily. Stopped by widow maker to take a break and got to watch one dude make 3 pretty sick climbs, two of them jumping up on to the top of cornice (sled pretty much vertical when he landed) and then dropping back down. Just crazy!!!

I will try to get some pics up tomorrow, and I have a couple videos of the dude at widow maker I will try to post!

More from Rabbit Ears, snow was setting up a little but still soft. Wasn't champagne though....:

Been waiting to someday be able to carve it up (this is only my second time out west)....finally got my chance at the ears....what a blast! Looking back...

WE ARE BAAAACK, Round 2 in Cooke City.

Snow is really good, looks like they had some GREAT powder conditions within the last week or so judging from the tracks that we have come across. The snow has setup some but by no means is it go anywhere snow, must have gotten stuck 20 times between the 3 of us today playing in the trees, we've been avoiding the big climbs because of the conditions, avy danger is pretty evident.

We rode today, plan on riding a full day Friday and maybe some Saturday, we will see how it goes.

Snowing like CRAZY right now......

We rode all day Friday, high skis, foot maybe a little more of new snow overnight, awesome day of riding!

Looked at the forecast last night ( Monday night ) and they were suppose to pick up close to ANOTHER foot of snow....... keeps up like this and April will go down as the BEST riding month of the whole winter out there this year!

The ' new guy ' was having some issues with TREES this weekend.

I know it's tough to think about sledding this time of the year but right now it is probably THEE best snow of the year in the mountains, definetly worth the trip if a person can swing it.

Yeah, it happend kind of fast last January before we went out the first time. Within a day, I had my 900 1M sold and the new M1000 sitting on the trailer coming home, I was content using the 900 1M one more season but a good deal came along and I couldn't refuse!

I gave up some weight to the 1000cc engine ( heavier ) but the lugging power is sweet!

It wasn't the snopro with the adjustable height handle bars but I'll be getting those this summer and have them ready for next year, just a little more height on the bars would be nice.

Thats just being a good Dad Hemi!!

Keep your eyes peeled this fall, I think you'll see some pretty nice rides for sale, 4 of us sold our 900 cats for anywhere from $3600 - $4500 this winter, '04s or '05s, some with less than 1000 miles on them and everyone of them was a very respectable sled for the mtn's, one even had NOS!

I know everyone's put away the sled but the snow keeps on fallin' around Cooke City, more snow now than when those pictures were taken in the previous posts, 4 weeks ago cool and pretty much THEE most snow they have had all winter!

If I had the time........ I'd be heading west in a heartbeat!
