Have you hunted with lights?

It's been a few years now since we got the law passed to hunt with lights. I'm curious to see if any of you have done it and if you have, have you had success? Have you had any trouble with landowners or CO's because of it? Any stories about it at all would be appreciated.

Let's hear them!

Nope, would like to, but haven't got a good setup and not crazy about having to use a shotgun. If we could use rifle's I would for sure. Just don't see many yotes charging in to shotgun range in our area. 60-100yds is about the best they do, although I don't try to get them in any closer under the moon, they tend to circle before that, so they get a woof and a bang.

Obviously I'd like to see rifles allowed too... Shotguns work just fine. I use a browing gold 10 gauge shooting Remington HD BB shot and I'm good to go out to about 50 yards or a tad more.

Coyotes and foxes are not more finicky at night. They are nocturnal and much more active. The beauty of the light is that it acts as your camo and they can't see behind it so once you catch their eyes, you keep the light in their eyes and it's really not all that difficult to get them in to about 40 yards.

If you haven't tried it, you don't know what you are missing.

When I hunt with someone, one person runs the light and one the gun. Then I use a lightforce walkabout. Works great.

WhenI hunt by myself alone, I use a streamlight ultra stinger. But, it's a hand held light and I'd like to find a good head light that doesn't cost a fortune.
