northern pike ice tips

I was wondering what you guys use to ice fish for pike accept for tip ups i want to try jigging for them this winter

I like big bucktail jigs with a cisco but they will hammer nearly anything you put down the hole if you are in a good spot.

I've been wanting to try it for a couple years now but haven't got the chance. From the reading I've done and talking to people who have been successful I've heard airplane jigs, chubby darters, bucktail jigs like thedeadsea mentioned, and 4" tube jigs. The other thing is to get out of the weeds where the fish will have some visibility since that's what triggering the strikes, not scent like with tip-ups.

My favorite for pike is a Blue Fox HOLOGRAPHIC BLUE SHINER spoon with good sized sucker minnow on it.

would a jig with a mr.twister work around here, i saw them using one of these rigs up in canada on tv last week
