I think FM needs to put on a Winter Extravaganza of it's own!

I think after reading so many posts on so many Great topics. I think the FM site should setup it's own Ice Fishing Extravaganza! There could be a fishing contest, and also some drag out, all out contests for all the topics that are hashed to death! Like a Fastest Auger drilling contest, a ATV vs Sled in deep snow pulling a porty contest, which lake maps chips and GPS's are the most accurate, which Flasher works the best, which porty pulls the easyest and is the fastest to setup and take down, which led lights work the best, which heater heats the best, who has the nicest porty mods, who has the nicest prem mods, who has their Sled or ATV setup the best, etc, etc, etc. There could be food cook offs, for jerky, venny sag, chilli, pout off a porty stove, you name it. All the vendors could show up with their stuff to sell, all the big named guides from around the state, all the big fish Gurus could come and give tips. I know some would say this sounds like the Ice Fishing show. But you can't test all the stuff unless your on ICE! So if all 45,961 FM members showed up it could turn into the biggest ice fish party ever. I would really like to see all the equipment run side by side sometime! So, FM what do you think? Next Year maybe?

that sounds like a cool idea. it would be alot of work to set up but i think it would be possible and would be a blast!

I think your right "pipe dream" but I would really love to see all the Augers line and give it a go! They use to have an Auger contest up on Gull a few years back I think. But things like that shows up all the none performing companies, which hurt their sales I think!

Fishing Minnesota already puts on the Ice Leader's events every year. Many new items where one can try out another if they have not yet seen that model or brand.

One can also attend and learn new trips on catching different species.

The Cool cats event on the Horseshoe chain typically has fried catfish for all the attendees. They are caught and fried fresh. Many attend this event.
