Catbird in December? Pics Added

I have been convincing myself that the catbird I have been hearing was really a mimic--squirrel, starling, bluejay. But there he sat on the birdbath on my deck today. Is that awfully late for a catbird to still be here???? I'm not sure where you find your resource on migration dates, borealhunter.

The little fellow has been back to the bird bath several more times. Here he is through a very dirty slider:

It's a pretty late sighting of this species, way to go! According to my recent issue of THE LOON, produced by the Minnesota Ornithologist Union, fall 2008 saw (late) reports of gray catbirds on 10/12 in Dakota Cty,and 10/23 in LeSeur Cty, which was well before the median departure date of 11/21 (for this species). Your second image is absolutely fantastic! Love how the bit of ice on the edge of the dish and the overall cool colors tell the story of this brave lingerer.

It is a strange year all the way around. We still have Goldfinch's coming to the feeder and there are Pine Grosbeaks in the Bog. I am going to blame it on El Nino

In the first shot he looks just plain cold, and in the second shot, he looks proud to be able to tough it out. Very nice.
