Ice Line??

What flouro do guys use in the winter and are the properties better with certain brands (flexibility, abrasion, etc.)?? I am looking to use flouro this year in the 2-4 lb range. thanks.

Vanish ahs been very good to me over the years for ice fishing and now I have started using triple fish a bit more since it is cheaper. I would try berkley vanish and see how it works for you I think their low test lines are the best as far as fluoro goes IMHO

I use Vanish 6 in the summer on my live bait leaders. Do guys spool or use leaders with the flouro??

I use Vanish (2 lb. for panfish, 4 lb. or 6 lb. for walleye sauger, and wiper) flourocarbon leaders on my ice rigs. I've had no issues with Vanish, so I've not tried any other brands.

I've never filled an entire spool with flourocarbon, since I've heard enough stories about memory issues with it. I usually use about 30' of flouro as a leader.

I don't use flourocarbon much in open water, so I can't make a comparison there.

The only flouro I use for ice fishing now is P-Line flouro ice. It stays on the spool well (I've had huge problems on the ice with other flouros jumping and flying off the spool), works well in a house or outside in freezing temps, and is not too stiff to fish even lightweight panfish baits.

I am a P-line guy for the most part. I use it as leaders on my rigs as well. Never tried spooling it, but it works well as a leader tied to fireline
