The_King48
I am getting sick and tired of MAYTAG... I replaced every appliance in my house about 5 years ago with all Maytag except a GE dishwasher that was cheap..Guess what, no problems with the CHEAP GE... I have more problems than I think I should've had with new appl.... Anyway now my ice maker in the freezer leaks. It happens when its filling with water after it dumps the ice. Does anybody know of a place where I can purchase one? I can put it in myself I don't need to spend $200 for some repair guy to take out and put in 2 bolts and hook up the water.... Thank u in advance

pikechaser
Theres a pretty good chance a new ice maker isnt gonna solve your problem. throwing parts at it gonna cost you more in the long run..being a over priced repair guy I would have steered you away from Maytag... hydro
I had the same problem with a Maytag side by side. The icemaker broke (internal gear issue) and had it replaced by a service tech who was quite knowledgable. The unit itself was about $150.00. After that, the icemaker worked fine, but still overflowed and froze up the ice bin. Turns out that problem was a valve that had fouled with calcium from our water and would not seat, and leaked slowly. I bypassed it (took the filter out of the loop and used a different valve) and got things to work.Have fun with that one.....
