I just bought a 20.00 string of 12 volt and cut them into 3 light segments. had enough for 6 holes 3+ bucks per hole is in my price range.

Plansy if you cut them down how did you wire them. They only come with one end to hook onto? Did you RIG something? Pls explain as i would like to do this as well. Or a picture if you can. This would be apprecited

These have 3 wires so all lights remain lit even if one bulb goes out. Cut and strip the 3 wires and use trial an error you'll need to put two of the wires together to get all three lights to light. Once you have done this mark the correct wires for polarity (neg vs pos). From there just seal off the wires on the opposite end of the 3 light string and your ready to hook this section to your main wire harness that you created to go from hole to hole. I'll get pics in a day or two.

The LED hole lights ($10) from Fish House Supply are what I used. If I remember correctly, they are 2 LED's on a license-plate type mount. They are nice because they focus all the light into the hole, rather than across the floor of the fish house. They certainly aren't shy about the price...

Moe,

I agree that Fishhouse Supply does a great job of shipping out their products asap. I ordered a bunch of stuff from them last year when I built my house.

Although, I tried something a little different with the hole lights in my house. I'm very happy with the results. I don't have any pictures of the final install so you'll have to use your imagination a little.

I mounted individual 12V LED bulbs in a piece of green-treated wood (see below). I just drilled all the way through the board for the wires and siliconed the bulb in place.

The piece of wood was the screwed to the underside of the floor with the LED lined up with the hole drilled through the catch-cover ring (see below).

The underside of the floor was spray-foamed after the lights and wiring was installed. It'll be a bit of a pain if one of the bulbs quits. The wiring connections are all soldered and shrink-wrapped to that shouldn't be an issue.

The 5 mm led bulbs light up the hole very well without any shadows. If the line gets caught on the ice you can see it!

It sure seems like there would be a market for catch covers with built-in lights!!!!
