Lapland Longspur

I'm bored, so I thought I'd peel one off from this fall migration. This image was made in Grand Marais in September. I was shooting by the shore on the opposite side of the lighttower. The bg is distant lichen covered rocks. I enjoy all the color popping here and there in this one. This species can be very approachable (by crawling), during fall migration (on the north shore). SonyA300, Tokina80-400mm, iso200, f10, 1/640, barely cropped, USM. Comments and critiques always welcome, unless you are thinking about saying something about "cleaning off the bird's bill". I will just laugh if you suggest that smile But any other thoughts are welcome!

Regards,

Shawn Zierman.
