Home for thanks giving, have a slough, hasnt been hunted all year!!!!!

Recommended Posts

I am going home for thanksgiving. My dad has a slough that is holding ducks, and hasnt been hunted all year. I would like to hunt the area for 2days. My concern is that I am going to bust the roost on the first day.The slough is pretty good size, big enough that if you shoot at ducks they will land on the other side. I would love to hunt a field but my dad cant find where they are feeding, because there is too much standing corn. Would you guys hunt the roost? My hopes are for some downed corn to see where they want to feed. These are mostly local birds, with some divers rafting in the middle.

plan on bustin ice...you should get some action though. if they keep the slough open and continue to roost there, wait to setup until the puddlers have flown out to feed. set up quick and shoot some when they come back in. probably the best way to get 2 solid shoots out of it.
