rundrave
had some pet damage a small piece of carpet in our home. I had some left over carpet from when the house was built back in 2005. Now that the new piece is installed, how can I get the small piece which hasnt faded yet, to match the existing old stuff that has faded?any tips or suggestions? traveler
I've patched more pieces than I care to remember... Carpets don't fade as much as they did in the past; it's mostly a combo of soil and wear that makes the old piece look, well, old. Even though it isn't very old. Generally, the new patch will look out of place for awhile, then, "catch up" with the old stuff, depending on where in the house/traffic lanes it is. (even if it is actually faded) Not much else you can do. And find someone good to do the patching...
Flooringuy
I've done thousands of bonded inserts and the most important thing is to find someone that can perform the work correctly. There's not alot you can do to make the old blend with the new except wait.As traveler said it depends on where the spot is if it blends fairly well or not.
