Best lock for deer stand

I am sure this has been covered but couldn't find and topics on it so I will ask on here. Last thursday I went out to grab my stand I use during bow hunting to take it to ely with me over the weekend. When I get there someone had cut the lock and taken it on either tuesday or wednesday. So I am wondering what the best lock for a new stand would be? Also would the same lock work for a game cam?

The best lock for portable would be to take it with you when you leave. To many stupid A holes out there stealing what we hard working hunters work for.

i hear you there, i am thinking about a climber and a lock on with climbing sticks so i can just take the sticks when i leave but it would be nice to find a good lock for a cam. I had the stand up since a week before bow started and it was never bothered until right before rifle starts

I have used the heavy cable locks in the past. Still do for my ladder stands. In testing, I have yet to be able to cut one with a "universal key". A cutting torch will cut it, but not to many cary them in the woods.
