Shore Angling/Kid's Event - brainstorm & interest

Hi Ya'll,
Late summer, early fall might be nice for a shore angler's/kids event at a Metro Area location (or even a couple of them).

I'm thinking pot-luck sort of picnic and/or barbecue. I know two places that might be good - Three Rivers Park in St. Michael on the Crow River - since it's on the Wright county side of the road, no fee is required and Montissippi Park in Monticello is really cool, with bike paths, hiking trails, and a niiiiice playground, along with many places to fish from.

I'd like to poll interest before putting this up as an event, and contacting the parks dept. to reserve anything (if need be).

If we got any contributions of prizes, we could have a contest for the kids of some kind.
