96trigger
What exactly is the regulation regarding zone 3A. I am now hearing a different interpretation of what I originally thought. Can you please Clarify. I am being told that 3A is EAB for the first 7 days. You MUST shott a doe before you can tag a buck. If you do not shoot a doe in the first 7 days, you are then restricted the last two days to no party hunting for bucks, and antler restrictions. This came directly from our ESL license agent, who called the DNR twice. This is how I understood it when they came out:A person could buy a Regular firearm license and shoot a buck without restriction the 1st 7 days. If that person had not shot a doe prior to that 7 day period, they then had to follow the antler restrictions, and no party hunting policy the last 2 days. If this is not correct. How are people in Lottery areas going to be able to shoot a buck?
buckx37x
96t I read it just as you stated in the last part of your post.
lcornice
Your last paragraph was the best. It is laid out in the regs book and also in the 2009 deer information booklet I've posted a couple of times. Basically, the ELS agent was wrong. The book and the other document are correct. Hopefully, those will bring some clarity to those last 2 days. As for lottery areas (only 344), since you can only kill one deer it's any buck the first 7 days, 4 points on a side the last 2. I hope that helps. I won't be on much until early next week. I have to fly to NY and may not be monitoring things very closely.
96trigger
Lou, I sent you an email at the DNR office. You don't need to return my call, I will explain everything in the email. I will be at a science teachers conference tomorrow and won't be able to answer my cell phone anyway. Thank you. I sent you the email,I see that you are still online, You can help by answering two questions for me very quickly. Are there any buck restrictions the first 7 days of 3A, (do you need to shoot a doe first)? Are the buck restrictions only for those 3A hunters that haven't shot a doe during the first 7 days of 3A? If I get an answer, I will take this thread to the ESL agent in the morning. Thank you
