RignJig
What are standard rates for winterizing boat motors? I have Mercury 150 Verado and 9.9 ProKicker. I'm in the northwest metro and not sure where to bring them. Any ideas?

RignJig
That's per motor, I assume? Any chance of a 2 for 1, or a lower rate on the kicker?
anchor man
I paid just under $200 a few years ago in the cities and have been spending about $180 in Crosslake. I have a Yam. F150, with a $23+ filter and almost 6 quarts of oil needed, so it adds up quick. I did it myself this year and spent about $90 on oil, lube and fogging oil. NCLaker
There should be a sizeable price difference depending on if your motor is 2 or 4 stroke (need to change oil/filter). Both types were mentioned in the above replies.
bassNspear
When you get a quote for a winterization on a 4 stroke, make sure you ask them if thats with a oil change!
LegattoAD
I was just there yesterday, Hallberg will winterize your 150 for $125 and for the kicker is $90, I think. $160 for stern drive. I know you said you're in the northwest metro, but if you hop on 22 and head east you'll come out right in front of their place in Wyoming.[note from admin: please read forum policy before posting again. thanks!]
Northlander
When you get a quote for a winterization on a 4 stroke, make sure you ask them if thats with a oil change! Very good point Bass N Spear. Also make sure they use your regular oil you use. Even if you have to bring it to them. I know some shops dont have Amsoil in certain areas. bassNspear
ya, if your using different oil, make sure you ask them what they are using. sometimes dealerships will use less expensive stuff!

Northlander
Ya me too Tom but if I had a big 225-300 I would probably pay someone to do it for me, while I watched of course, the 1st time.
