target had a 12 volt rechargable 6" digital tv for 95.00 that work ok around the metro but after that you need to be very close to a town that has its own broadcast like KSAX in alex= usually comes in 10 or 15 miles. You will not pull the metro stations. Your next step is to get a HD antenna. That is what i need.

if it has a plug in for an antenna, you can buy a plug that will screw into the cable on your converter box and convert it to a head phone jack that will fit in that antenna hole. then you tune to channel 3 and the converter box will come in

of course you need a 120v supply for your converter box, or like me i modified my converter box to run on 12v and put the whole thing inside my portable tv, so its all self contained now and runs off a 12 volt battery

Got any pics, my buddy and I were just talking about portable tv yesterday.

they do make 12v converter boxes. i have previously posted this info here on this very forum so i will repost it again. after many months last year i finally found an outlet for the 12 v converters i knew that they would need them for rvs and those tv on wheels mini vans and stuff. i found mine at ness electronics located very close to the state fair gounds. they are in the book and will also ship them out to you. they have the converters as well as the cords that makes it all possible. another thing to do is check if the boxes you are considering have a straight type 110v cord or if they have a transformer (like the one your cell phone or rechargebles have) you can find out what the output of the transformer has and hit "the shack" they will have a cord for you. ... paul
