When to start grunting?

I know that pre-rut is right around the corner when will you guys start using that grunt call? In central minnesota

would appreciate some feedback

I never head to the stand without one if I can help it. Start now. I won't blind call every sit but if a deer is out of a range, toss out a few grunts. Breeding takes place before & after November. You can get results calling anytime throughout the season.

Now is good, I won't go without one, blind calling can be a little tough right now. I don't think the big guys are really too fired up yet. Give it a week.

If you do see a nice buck, don't be afraid to let the grunt go loud, make sure he can hear you. Last year I had to grunt louder than ever but I got a big guy crossing the field to stop and come my way, once I had his attention, I could grunt normally, but don't be afraid to get his attention.
