Grayfox
My youngest and I both drew Fisher tags in Wisconsin this year and had been seeing a nice male running around the property the last few weeks. Mitch checked the traps before he went to school this morning and found the two empty but when he got home he found this nice male in the back trap. We've caught two before but had to let them go, once because the season closed two days before and once because we hadn't drawn a tag. I don't trap with conibears when I don't have a Fisher Kill Tag for fear of getting one of them. Neat looking critters though. Beautiful male, 44" long and some nasty claws. picksbigwagon
That is awesome, that grin is getting bigger and bigger from him isn't it.....Are you going to get it mounted or hope that the fur prices rebound sharply??? I thought fishers were darker too, at least the ones I have seen.....is it the flash that is washing out the fur?

Grayfox
The plan is to get this one mounted and if we get another we'll have it tanned. We tried to hook up with the CO and the taxidermist tonight but struck out so we'll be trying agian tomorrow. I don't think there's any hope of a price rebound this year the way things are going so most of the traps are staying in the shed this year. I do have an otter tag also so I'll be trying for one come spring. We're going to try to call a little harder for coyote and maybe a few fox this season and save the coon for when the prices hopefully rebound. Not sure on the color as this is only our first but they sure look nice.

trapperdirk
I've caught many in many phases of their colours but its the sweet silver ladies that are the top seller . Actually that's a big ol black grisly male mixed in with the fox in my avatar .TD
