Cheryl,didn't you have a 24-105L IS? if so,how was it? I have a chance to pick one up cheap from a guy who got it in his 5DMk2 kit.

I've used a copy of the lens for two shoots with a 5D. Wonderful piece of glass that's perfect for full-frame sensors. Nicely sharp wide open at 24mm with good edge-to-edge sharpness. A wedding/landscape photographer's best friend on a full-frame camera, and a very good walkaround lens to boot.

Thanks Steve. I've never used one,but the guy got a smokin deal on the kit and he already has a wide angle,so he doesn't need the new lens. I guess it's a no brainer @ $700,but I wondered how it was overall. Thanks again.

Ya,I was afraid of that. I'm supposed to get new tires put on the wife's car this weekend,but I went out and looked them over tonight after this lens deal came up and I think the tires will run awhile yet.

Yes, I did have one for a while but I found the f/4 a bit slow for the stuff I like to do so I never felt it was worth the price tag for me. That said it was sharp at f/4 and I really liked the colors. I think I sold it and bought the Sigma 70-200 f/2.8, which was more useful.

I'm really not much help here. But if you're getting a good deal on it, it's definitely worth looking into it.

MM, you can't go wrong at $700 if it's in fine shape. If you later realize you want to sell it, you'll make a profit on the resale.
