Circle Hooks on Tip-Ups?????????

Anybody ever give this a try?

I normally use a quick-strike rig for both walleyes and pike, but am thinking about trying circle hooks for eyes. I like the idea of the lower profile of a single hook compared to 6 hooks (two trebles).

Any thoughts or personal experience? More flags? Hooking percentage?

That is all I have used for pike in combination with 25# florocarbon leader material and have not been cut off. The hook is always in the corner of the mouth. I have caught a number of decent pike up to about 33 inches on this rig and don't miss too many fish.

I typically run 1/0 to 3/0 hooks depending on the size of the bait. For shiners or small suckers, the 1/0 are good. Larger suckers(4-5 inches+) I would go bigger. I also tend to put a bead or little flicker blade above them also to add attraction.
