bait tank - Feeding crappie minnows?

If I want to keep a bait tank of crappie minnows going for an extended period of time due to lack of fishing opportunities, what should I attempt to feed my crappie minnows, if anything?

bread crumbs or dog food would be my guess

I always use vacation feeders...white stones usually shaped like sea shells. They work wonders for minnows.

just go and get the food you would feed any aquarium fish - Ttetra or something like that. It will take them a couple of times to figure out that it's edible but once they get going they'll be fine.

I have a feeder tank that I keep minnows in to feed to my pearch and walleye. The minnows (fat heads or crappies) like to eat tetra goldfish flakes.

Keep in mind, over feeding will foul out a tank in a hurry. Do not over feed, a light feeding once a week is good. Once every two weeks is even fine, make sure that the food does not make it to the bottom of your tank before being eaten.
