Kansas Turkeys

I have a chance to go down to kansas this spring with an outfitter and go for turks with a bow. $400 for two turkeys, lodging and food, and they film your hunt, pretty good price i think. My question has anyone been down there hunting them before, whats it like???

Never hunted Kansas, but the price sounds good as long as it's 3 days or more. Anything less may be a tough hunt with a bow.

they said its as long as it take to get birds. Said most are done in a day or two sometimes less

Good luck mrklean! Do you know what kind of birds they have, I mean Rios or Easterns?

That's a super price. I'd call a few references just to make sure it's legit but you can't go wrong for $400. In fact, I'd make the drive for that. Post up some contact info if you get a chance mrklean. Thanks.

Don, they have rios and easterns and he said some cross hybrids also. They are right in central kansas so they get the mix of both birds.

Stick, i found the guy on AT, i cant post the name because its a different forum but you should know which one im talking about, its archery only which is cool, he had a page of references and other people posted experiences as well and it sounds like hes got a great area. My buddy and I got the last hunt for the spring, i should have posted his info before because i think he had a decent amount of hunts a month ago. If you are a member of AT i can give you his info on there and you can check out his page, maybe see if you could get on a wait list for spring hunts or something.

I'll just hunt vicariously through you then if he's all booked up. Nebraska will have to be good enough until 2011! What's your handle on AT?
