Hookmaster
I posted this in lawn and garden but it's pretty quiet over there.I have 12 seasons on a Craftsman rider. It has been burning oil but really started belching smoke last weekend. Are the rings shot? Time to rebuild the motor, replace the motor or buy a new lawn mower? The_Duckslayer
Shoulda bought a Montgomery Wards! I have a 79 and the dang this just will not quit! I would love to get a new one but got this one for free and it's still going! I have had it for six of it 30 years! ;-) Take care and N Joy the Hunt././Jimbo
eyemaster
seems to me like you could do anyone of the above. I would use it until it quit...have you changed the motor oil on a regular basis?
The_Duckslayer
Every spring new oil and stuff. In the fall take it down to the carwash and pressure wash everything and store in the garage over winter. Had to do a bit of jury rigging to get it to start this year! Toggle switch was much cheaper than a new ignition switch! Take care and N Joy the Hunt././Jimbo
givetoget
hook I had the same problem on to craftsman riders. I would say its the head gasket. A 10 dollar fix
