Installation ?

I am looking to install a DC power source (same as you plug your cell phone into in the car) in the console of my boat and was wondering if anyone knows were I can go to get one. I stopped at an auto supply store and they did not have what I was looking for.

The installation does not look that bad but finding one might be more difficult than I thought. Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated.

Do a search for 12V DIN socket; you should be able to easily locate one that has a cover to keep water out. Check an RV place?

I bought some at Cabela's last year. Supposed to be designed for marine use. They have some in the auto section at Fleet Farm, but they're not the marine ones. They're a lot cheaper, but probably wouldn't last as long.

Definitely buy the marine ones!! The regular automotive ones are less expensive and not as rust resistant as the marine grade. I went the cheap route, only to replace them the next season. Phred52

I bought mine at walmart. Its "weather proof". I've had it in the boat for about 3 years. It has a lid with a seal to keep out the elements when not in use.

I have seen them at Gander Mountain as well.
