Electronic Caller

Scraps

Fox Pro IMO is one of the best out there. You may have to take a mortgage on the house. shocked

Or you could also go the less expensive way and learn how to use mouth calls.

The "Calling all Coyotes" videos from Randy Anderson are a great place to start.

Thats what I was thinking but there seems to be several models. I noticed the latest is the prairie blaster which I like the ideal of the motion decoy built right in but don't like the price. Any suggestions on an alternative decoy with a less expensive model of fox pro?

First of all, welcome to Fishing Minnesota!!!

I have a Minaska Bandit (smaller caller, fits in a cargo pocket) and have had times where I have wanted some motion. I had a friend who had a motion rabit thing on a stick. It would have sealed the deal if he would have brought it one day two winters ago.

I have a buddy with an fx5 (stepped up from an fx3). He loves his call and likes mine too. I like his fx5 and love my bandit. It is interesting when we go out hunting (I got out twice last winter-young family at home) he always wants to use my caller and vice versa. we have put out our calls before 80 yards apart from each other but have never had success. I think it is just too much noise.

Mine was about 200 cheaper, but still not a bargain either. Check on the internet site that you bid on stuff, you know the one....there are deals on there once in a while. Steer clear of the western rivers predation calls. There has been a lot of bad things happen with those units. In fact Cabelas wouldn't stand behind them and replace them. It was on their HSOforum that after 30 days it had to go back to the company.

I made a homemade one a few years back with my ipod and some parts from radio shac. It worked okay, but for the money I spent, I was over halfway to my bandit caller.....

I will see if I can find my homemade caller pictures and post them later tonight.....

Foxpro- but i would rather hand call. One of the reasons i got one is to get the sound away from me. Ideal when I just prone out in the field and call. Other than that, you get sounds you can't do on hand calls.

I usually use a combo of the two. I seem to get better results with my hand calls for whatever reason though. Might have something to do with being able to pan the sound around.

Catchphotofilet with your post I had to look to see if I could shoot a fox with the electronic caller. Found in the reg book where it states can not use to take small or big game. Then I found the exception for furbearers not in the regulations book though.
