FOAM FOR BOAT CUSHIONS

was looking online to order some foam to make new cushions. anyone know what they are talking about, when they say the foam has;

2.8 lb/ft3 density with a 55lb ILD

I don't know what that description means but I got my 4" foam for bed and bench coushions from a arts and crafts store when they had a half price sale. It may be cheaper than online. That stuff isn't cheap.

I agree that stuff isn't cheap! I had the foam in my Ice Castle booth/bed cushions replaced at a professional foam place in Bloomington called A1. They had me look at a number of different foam samples. They said there is a huge difference between foams. The heavier the foam number, the better it will wear and the longer it will last. I paid almost $300 for the three cushions I had done, but MAN are they nice now. Used to sink right down to the boards with 3" factory foam, now I have 4.5" firm foam and it is much more comfortable.
