charliepete
Get yourself a a smoker or a weber charcoal grill and learn to cook via the indirect slow and low method. You'll never haver any 'barabcue' out of a crock pot again (at least I haven't).

delcecchi
One chuck roast, seared in frypan if you have time. Some catsup or bbq sauce. 1 beer 1 onion, cut up. put in crockpot. cook all day. we have been doing this for many years. It is still good. don't use the expensive beer. sparkyaber
Similar to delcecchi, put a beef or pork roast in the crock pot with some onion, cook all day. Shred it and debone it. Put back in the crock pot with your choice of BBQ sauce. I like sweet baby rays. Heat for as long as you got, and then enjoy.I use to do it like this (well my wife did) until I started smoking the meat and doing large portions. It still is very convenient when I don't want to run the smoker for one roast.
fishinchicks
I put a rub on mine, stick it in the crockpot with some carrots on the bottom to elevate it a touch, and add various liquids. Coke or rootbeer give it an interesting flavor that goes well with the bbq sauce. After it has spent the entire day on low, it should shred easily. We don't like it too saucy, so I don't mix as much sauce in as others do.
bogman
Sam's club sells presmoked brisket. Comes in 5-8 lb package. Place whole package or a portion as needed in crockpot and pour in your favorite bbq sauce and cook on low for a couple hours stirring occasionally. We did this for our son's grad party and it was a hit and very easy.
