Do I need a Turkey Stamp for the Fall Turkey Season or did they do away with them?

If you bought one this spring it is still good for the fall season. If you did not buy one this spring then yes, you need to buy one now. At least that's how I remember it.

Actually I did some more research and on page 20 of the regs it says they are no longer needed. Can that be correct?

They used to charge $18 for the license, and $5 for the stamp.

Starting in 2009, the DNR just combined the total cost to $23 for a license.

So you're no longer able to save $5 by only buying one stamp per year.

I think that is how to add that $5 to the general fund instead of designating it to turkeys. I don't think they need to set money aside specifically for turkeys anymore.

You are correct. I emailed the DNR, here is their response:

The $23 for to hunt the fall hunt is a combination license/stamp, they are not separate any longer. The spring and fall hunt each are $23.

Thanks for the info. I kind of wondered if they'd overcharged me since I'd hunted in the spring.
