where did they go??

what happened to all the geese that were around in the first part of augest?? there were hundreds everywhere now you get giddy if you see 3.. anyone else been seeing low # of birds 2 weeks before theseason started?

There isn't a hunter every square mile there like there is here!

Everyone knows there are no geese anywhere in Minnesota, they are all in NoDak and Iowa.

yea i have noticed that to there has been very low numbers this year for me compared to the last couple years

My areas are stacked and the molt migrants from manitoba will be down soon with a cold front. If I were a goose I wouldn't fly much either in this heat.

But, the numbers are no where near where they were 10 years ago. Our water quality is poor and dry and lakes get bothered so much I don't blame the birds for seeking out quieter pastures like ND.

Every field in my area has a spread of honker dekes, my neighbor was asked 71 times before season by hunters hoping to bomb his oat field. Might add he is sick of it, getting calls when he's in bed and people driving in and out some laying rubber out of his driveway when he denies them.

i was roaming around still lookging for my 1st goose in 2 years.. and asked 4 people got all nos and thanked them anaways..

Most of the geese have left my area as well. Opening weekend probably saw 500 birds now I can only find 30 tops driving around. The migration should be starting with the first cold snap and north winds but that doesn't look to be happening anytime soon. Thursday is the first chance of semi north winds but the weather is to hot for them to be moving around much.
