AKC Abreviations??

Just got my AKC papers. I noticed that there is a "PT" following some of the dogs names. (mostly on the Dam side) I looked it up and it said that PT means they were pre trial in Herding?

My question is, would herding in their bloodline help as far as having a good gun dog?

She is actually in Gun Dog training right now, and had a problem with pulling on the leash. I know that is part my fault for not using the right training too, but even the trainer said she pulled alot.

Kind of makes sense y she is always about 40-50 yards in front of me when I let her loose in the field, but she never goes further. Kinda like she is rounding up lol..

Oh yea, shes a choc lab.

Wrong.

PT = Pre-Trial Tested:

The American Kennel Club will issue a Pre-Trial Tested certificate to an eligible dog, and will permit the use of the letters PT after the name of a dog that has been certified by two different Judges to have qualified by passing two licensed or member club Pre-Trial tests. Dog may qualify twice in one day at the same event provided he/she is judged by different judges.
