We were out "touring" Ten Mile Lake and observed 4 or 5 eagles - several juveniles and at least one mature. I was pleased with these two images - taken while standing in the boat on a very breezy day. I sure am loving my new lens

You should be loving your new lens, you are getting some nice shots. How you did it in a rocking boat is beyond me.

Jackie, shooting a flying eagle from a rocking boat is a tough assignment, and you got some really nice images. Good work!

Thanks! I probably should have said "I love my new lens & tripod!

There's still so much to learn on this big lens (100-400), but these are the first eagle shots I've taken with it and certainly my best personal results. Considering I was sitting in the back of the boat, camera on the floor (not on the tripod) and a cold beverage in my hand, when we spotted the first guy... I have several shots that are closer, but then lose the water, and that tells part of the story.

Eventually he just watched us float on by-
