Bringing my son to his first game Fri.Where's the best place to park nowdays? All my favorite spots near Wash. Ave are gone. This may sound stupid but I'm looking for something half ways affordable Thanks!

Light Rail from somewhere. I rode it with my 6 yr old last year from near the mall and it was great and cheap. He had a ball riding it too.

Just don't be in too much of a hurry to leave unless you enjoy being up-close-and-personal with people suffering from a bad case of flatulence after downing several beers and dome dogs.

Light-rail is a great option. You can always park somewhere near the Dome, but you pay more the closer you want to be and you wait longer to leave because of the traffic. Park in a distant lot (far away from Washington Avenue) and you'll be in better shape.

I usually try to find an after-game diversion if I drove instead of taking the light rail. I'd rather go to a restaurant afterwards or walk around the river instead of head straight to my car and be frustrated at stop-and-go traffic for an hour or so.

Don't forget that there are lots of buses that go right near the metrodome. These are also great options.

If the weather is nice I will park on the street for free by St. Anthony Main. Then take the peaceful walk across the Stone Arch Bridge, looking for fish on the way over of course. Afterwards, traffic isn't too bad getting back on either 35W or 94N.
