mrklean
Thinking about putting in for a mule deer tag for the hills area, what kinda populations are out there. Also this is a DIY so public land will be important.
DonBo
Mostly whitetails in the Hills. Look towards the Missouri River Breaks for mulies.
Thunderchicken
The mule population in the hills it's self is low. The outer edges is where they roam. There are some public lands in the Fall River County area that hold good numbers of Mule's but to get a good one you will have to walk your butt off! Leaddog
I've seen many of both species out there. As far as public land, there's some private thats easy to see on the maps but mostly public. Something like 1.5 or 2M acres!
HNTNBUX
The mule deer tags will be tough to draw for a few years, you would be better off in a prairie unit if you want to hunt soon.
