Amsoil Interceptor

I picked up a Quart of Amsoil Interceptor 2 cycle and according to the back I should mix 50:1 for my motor. I have 03 2.5hp merc and was wondering if should go 50:1 or a little richer? Also what does 50:1 actually come out to be in comparison of ounces of oil to gallon/gallons of gas? thanks

Amsoil is good oil, follow the mixing instructions on the label.

50:1 is 1 oz of oil to 50 oz of gas.

there is 128 oz in a gallon, so you would put 5.1 oz into 2 gal of gas or 2.6 oz per one gallon.

If you haven't opened it yet, take it back to where you bought it! Do NOT use it in your outboard! Interceptor carries a NOT RECOMMENDED for outboard engines.

For your pre-mix outboard there are two choices from AMSOIL.

1. AMSOIL Saber Outboard can be used as lean as 100:1 (Do NOT use the Saber Professional you use in your auger, Saber Outboard is for water cooled engines, Saber Professional is for air cooled engines.

2. AMSOIL HP Injector can be used in outboards as a premix oil at 50-1.

Does anyone know of a store/retailer that sells Amsoil near Eden Prairie. I'm heading out this afternoon and hoping I don't have to send my buddy down to FF in Lakeville beforehand. My oil reservoir got dangerously low on my long trip last weekend and she needs a refill.
